"Addiction" The Rising Trend of India.
People from all walks of life experiences various addictions,It has become a global issue, various addictions are responsible for millions of death's and millions of cancer cases every year.
In the recent survey ,India is seeing the rising trend in various addiction's,most common addiction in india are smoking , alcohol also cannabis and opiates according to this survey it has indicated that this trend of addiction is more in male also has existence in women regardless of the age.
Problems such as stress, anxiety and depression are some of the reasons among the college goers of getting attracted toward addiction,the dropouts are most commonly found some people experience with recreational addiction out of curiosity to have a good time because friends are doing it, today this addiction have sneaked even to the schoole's.
Such addictions affects physical,mental, emotional or behavioural status of an individual.
There are many types of addictions like depressant (downers), stimulats (uppers) ,narcotics, nicotine etc.among this all the most wide availability and use of addiction in india are Nicotine ,Depressant (downers) and marijuana/cannabis.
Nicotine is found in tobacco products which is used by smoaking, chewing and applying to the tooth and gum etc, it has the wide availability in india.
When an individual smokes a cigarettes or chews tobacco, nicotine enters into the body and releases chemical named dopamine in the brain and similar chemicals ,due to which mind feels relax and stress and anxiety reduces and feels better and the bad habit of human being is to feel more better again & again due to which adolescence gets addicted to it.
Depressants are the substance which slower the brain activity some depressants includes alcohol, hypnotics to induce sleep, anxiolytic to reduce anxiety , sedatives for relaxation etc. Among this all alcohol is most commonly used in India, according to study in kerala by Alcohol and Drugs information centre India (NGO) The aged under 21 years drinking have increased for 2% to 15% from past 15 to 16 years in which the average age is between 19 to 13 years.
Youth should take some initiative to get rid of this addiction.
Prosecution is not only an option to deal with this problem.there should be a community oriented programs and solutions where all youth should come and deal with it.
